shhhhhhh
don't tell ethan. i think i want a dog.
if you know me right now you're laughing, hard.
i don't like dogs, cats, birds, fish, frogs, hamsters etc etc. well, i shouldn't put it that way. i don't hate animals, i'm not mean to them. i just think if you are going to have a dog you should love it. i wouldn't. my biggest hesitation has always been, will i love a dog enough? i think if you own a dog you need to be a dog person. if you are going to take care of an animal you need to be the kind of person who wouldn't want to puke when the animal slobbers, eats or gets goopy eyes. oh the goopy eyes!
it's my sister in law's fault. she and my brother have a lab and at first i didn't really like her (the dog not my sister in law). but, they have trained her so well and she is such a sweet dog and so well behaved (when there isn't a stray stick of butter within her reach!).
shhh, don't tell ethan.

I never EVER thought I would have a dog. Now guess who I was snuggling with five minutes ago...
a well-trained dog is a joy to have...we're still working with ours, but he is coming along.
you know how I feel about dogs ... they get you through tough times because they have this crazy empathy thing they are really good at. And letting your kids grow up with a dog is adorable. Listen to Liz and Tiffany!
I come from an animal hating family except outdoor cats. Animals are germy and gross and smell and poo everywhere and....yuck. Well I don't know what happened but I rescued 3 abandoned day old kittens from a dumpster during a rainy/snowy day and fed them from droppers every two hours for weeks until I was able to keep one alive, who is now 2 years old. Lily is an INDOOR cat, climbs on the counters when I don't catch her and sleeps on my head sometimes and I love her to death. My sister bought 2 dogs, INDOOR dogs and picks up poo willingly. Other sister still hates hates hates dogs, but allowed her kids to have an INDOOR dog. She still takes the dog outside for his potty break by picking him up with oven mitts so she doesn't have to touch him. But someday... My mom no longer pets the animals with her foot in guilt. She pets them with her hand (washing quickly afterwards) - but progress nonetheless! What happened to our animal hating family!
hot pads! to move the dog! brilliant!
grassy ass.
don't do it. I have friends who think their kids need animals, so they get one, and then after a month, they realize what a hassle they are, and they take them out to the desert and shoot them, and tell the kids it ran away, which of course devastates them. That's the problem, once your kids are in love, you're stuck with it. Unless you own a gun, apparently...
