architecture in helsinki - heart it races
this is the strangest most fantastic band i have ever heard. give it time, it sinks in your head deep and unremovable. in a very good way.

i have soooo many old photos i thought it might be a good idea to start blogging them, one each week on fridays. how fun and mostly boring for all of you!
i get good blogging ideas (that i never act on) from tiffany and alyssa. since my self-imposed internet fast is over i'm going to finally blog one of alyssa's ideas!
Soundtrack of My Life
Here's how it works:
1. Open your music library
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For every question, type the song that's playing
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button
6. Don't lie
Opening Credits: Hard Headed Woman - Elvis (oh dear this is sooooo on the nose)
First Day Of School: You've Been Flirting Again - Bjork (pfffff- very INaccurate)
Falling In Love: Planet of Sound - The Pixies (one fine day in my odd past)
Fight Song: Everything Counts - Depeche Mode
Breaking Up: King of Kings - Echo and the Bunnymen
Prom: Guess I'm Doing Fine - Beck (ooo, sad prom.)
Life's Ok: Wonder - Natalie Merchant (very good fit)
Mental Breakdown: Shame on You - Indigo Girls (ha! so totally perfect)
Driving: Real Love - David Gray
Flashback: Matthew - John Denver (flashback to kari meeting him in tears!)
Getting Back Together: I Don't Feel Like Dancing - Scissor Sisters (must be a VERY happy getting back together)
Wedding: You Know I Couldn't Last - Morrissey (oooo, bad wedding)
Birth Of A Child: You're the Good Things - Modest Mouse (hmm, seems like a good song but really not. unless the child is evil)
Final Battle: Junco Partner - The Clash (love it!)
Death Scene: Smile - Lily Allen (oh, weird death)
Funeral Song: Friendly Advice - Luna (interesting. anyhow, who doesn't LOVE luna)
End Credits: Send One Your Love - Stevie Wonder

...michele has a podcast!
and she's in trouble for not telling me earlier.
take a listen. read more about her here.
ok wait. she did tell me. on her blog, but as usual my reading skillz failed me. i totally missed it.
this year was the first year i had time to make the kiddles halloween costumes. i think they turned out a little too homemade looking... BUT the boys LOVED them. and that's what matters.
to get the full effect here's a little video...
and a special thank you to erik and lisa, my kids had fun decorating cookies at their house. cade ate an entire bowl of gummy worms. decorating cookies to him meant decorating the same cookie over and over, while eating the used toppings. good grief i love my kids.
elliott did an awesome job decorating mad and happy faces. and the cookies were egg free! thanks to lisa's baking genius.
