the LAST day of christmas... vanilly lilly

last but not least... vanilly lilly. i had a vanilla cookie with chocolate filling, my sister had this one:

melissa, maybe now is a good time for you to open the one and only gift i purchased and got to the right person this year. from me to you, tell your kids i blew the entire family budget on you. totally worth it.

and, notes to everyone's comments. (i've been a little behind and had all these posts scheduled at the beginning of the month, so i am just now going through the comments! sorry!)

fisher price hospital: Kathleen and Mauri: i am very super jealous you have access to the hospital!!

sesame street: Alison and Meghan: again, jealous. i am thinking maybe we didn't own this one. i think it was a toy in the nursery at church...
Mauri: there was an apartment building!!!

strawberry shortcake: alyssa/soul fusion: will your mom let me come over and play with them?
michele: YOU of all people should know about cafe ole! i am going to find you one.
liz: ok. you know how we now live in the same city and we never see each other. it's because i didn't know you had strawberry shorcakes! coming over soon...

my mandy: melissa: that IS a charlie's angels hair kit. don't remember it, do you?
alyssa/ soul fusion: YOU played with dolls??????
alison: can't wait to see her hair. hopefully she's as adorable as me. ha!
michele: mr mouth! thanks for remembering.

cabbage patch kids: alyssa/ soul fusion: again, YOU played with dolls? i'm naming my next kid lionel. too hilarious
liz: how did you save up for one? did you have an after school job in kindergarten? or were you one of those cool kids who got an allowance??
Genevieve: are they still as expensive?
kari: chandra, no good. but still not beer!
tiffany: i got a fake one the year before. what a horrible plague these things were. disappointed kids and poor parents all around.
michele: smart move on your mom's part. no way i can see you caring about a cabbage patch kid. unless his name was lionel!

my little pony: tiffany: welcome to the party!
michele: are you sure she's your child?

barbie: tiffany: you cannot be serious! prob why you're so well adjusted.
alyssa: you never played with barbies, did you? i think you and michele both had the hippo barbie.
alison: barbie and the rockers- did they all date derek and the rockers?

sheera: janelle: of course sheera would win!
meghan: so sad you don't still have them all! maybe in the basement...

tree tots: kari: so glad i found it. surely it's in your parent's house somewhere!
ttlyeightmom: holy wow- i don't even remember the people very well. should have held on to some of these!

11th day of christmas... tree tots

we must have had this when i was very little because i can barely remember anything about it.

did you have these?

i found it while looking for weebles. but none of the weebles look familiar. just the song.
♪weebles wobble but they don't fall down... ♪

10th day of christmas... sheera!

i am not really sure if i had one, but i really remember these. i am almost certain i had shee-ra.

anyone remember their names?

erik had a few, his friend jimmy had almost all of them. jimmy asked to be called jimmy on monday wednesday and friday and james on sunday tuesday thursday and saturday. he was a funny little kid.

you can watch most episodes online. hilarious!

9th day of christmas... air jammer road rammer

totally for my brother erik.

i can hear the commercial in my head, but i can't find it!

8th day of christmas... barbie!

if you know me you know i love barbie! a few i remember:

tropical barbie:

beauty secrets barbie:

crystal barbie:

dream date barbie:

the gold one:

i didn't find the pink one in this photo:

but i did find some awesome-ness related to my sister's barbie in the photo (melissa you will need jeff's help to watch):

last but not least, my very favorite. peaches and cream barbie:

we girls can do anything- right barbie...

7th day of christmas... my little pony!

my very first little pony was blossom.

i had a few others, including this baby buggy one. i dearly loved the baby buggy.

are you all bored yet? because i am having waaaaaay too much fun with this!

6th day of christmas... cabbage patch kids!

i could only find one of the cabbage patch kids i had. her name was renita corona. yes, corona.

my sister and i were terrible with surprises (and we still are). my parent's finally resorted to hiding toys in a locked closet. sadly we quickly found the key. i knew about renita before christmas. and i am embarrassed to say i played with the twin boys i got the next year days before christmas. yep, i opened the box and took 'em out. i was terrible!

how in the world did these get popular with commercials like these... and how did she get a "sarah anne"? i got beer!!

5th day of christmas... my mandy

did you have one?
i didn't, but my sister melissa did.

this photo isn't as great, but hello! awesome pjs!

4th day of christmas... strawberry shortcake

remember their names?
back row l to r: mint tulip w/ marshland mallard, raspberry tart w/ rhubarb monkey, orange blossom w/ marmalade butterfly, lime chiffon with parfait parrot, lemon meringue with frappe frog, blueberry muffin w/ cheesecake mouse, angel cake with souffle skunk, cafe ole w/ burrito donkey
front row l to r: apple dumplin w/ tea time turtle, butter cookie and jelly bear, strawberry shortcake w/ custard cat, apricot and hopsalot, cherry cuddler w/ gooseberry goose

can you smell them? it's hard to remember which ones i owned, my friend sharae had every single one! actually, a few of each- they had lots of little girls in their family. i know i had strawberry shortcake and the little marshmallow hat on marshland mallard really stands out.

i cannot explain how desperately i want one of these today. time to start digging on ebay. problem is, i want a brand new one, under the tree for me next week!

p.s. how in the world does cafe ole with burrito donkey fit in? fruit, fruit, fruit, burrito.

who had this little gem?:

3rd day of christmas... rick!

ok, this one i know we had because i have proof! for some reason i think he came from hallmark. so the chances of this relating to anyone but my brother- pretty slim.

i think we had the little figurines too.

now for the creepiness- i did not have one of these but i know some of you must have.
hugga bunch! stuffed with creepiness!

2nd day of christmas... sesame street!

ok, i am not entirely sure we had this. but big bird looks so very familiar. melissa, do you remember?

did you have one? remember the trap door in the roof?

up next... hallmark and something very creepy.

on the first day of christmas...

recently i wasted a few HOURS on the internet searching for one very old christmas toy. in the process i found lots and lots of memories. i gasped and giggled as i found each memory, so i am sharing them with you. sure, this is primarily for me and kind of for my siblings, but there weren't that many toys back in the 80s so hopefully some of these are memories for you too.

first up... the fisher price hospital!

ok internet, raise your hand if you had one! we did and i clearly remember it. the squishy bed foam, the little light over the operating table and the scale! oh, the scale- it worked! the dial turned when you put the little people on it. and the little nurse in white was in our house for years after the rest had disappeared. and those little kids on the balcony above the elevator, totally remember those!

up next... something even older!

again, having never really participated i am not entirely sure when the 12 days starts and when it ends... so i'm starting it today. ending it on christmas eve.

12 days of christmas starts tomorrow

i think. maybe not, but here on my blog it does. and i'm doin' somethin' fab.

here is a hint. this is me:

seriously cute eh? i would KILL for those shoes right now!

music for monday

pacha massive - don't let go

blogger spotlight

seriously, my blog is very spotty. i got on posting frenzies then quit for long periods of time. so. i am going to spotlight a few bloggers a month (maybe, remember the spottiness) to entertain you while you wait for more exciting blogging from me!

first up. tiffany of the would be writers guild. (stick it in your reader before you forget!)
